Importing Recipes
- Copy and paste the full URL of any recipe page — the app will extract the ingredients, steps, and nutritional info automatically.
- If a recipe fails to import, try copying the link directly from your browser's address bar rather than from a share sheet.
- Some websites block automated access. If a site consistently fails, please contact us and we'll look into adding support for it.
- Recipes behind a paywall can't be read by the app. You'll see a message explaining this — try finding the recipe on another site.
Recipes from TikTok, Instagram & Facebook
- Share the post to The Recipe Organizer, or paste its link into the import screen.
- For Instagram and Facebook, the app will ask you to paste the post's caption as well — that's where the ingredients and steps live, and those platforms don't let us read it for you.
- TikTok links pull the caption in automatically, along with the creator's name and photo.
- If the caption doesn't actually contain the recipe, there's nothing for the app to extract. Some creators put the full recipe in a comment or link out to their own site.
Sharing Recipes from Other Apps
- Tap the Share button in your browser or any app, then select The Recipe Organizer from the share sheet.
- The recipe will be imported automatically when the app opens.
Writing Your Own Recipes
- Tap Add to write a recipe from scratch — title, ingredients, steps, servings, and cook time.
- You can add your own photo, and enter nutrition values by hand if you want them.
- If you navigate away mid-edit, the app will warn you before discarding unsaved changes.
Cook Mode
- Open a recipe and tap Cook to step through the instructions one at a time.
- Tick off ingredients as you add them — the checklist keeps your place while you work.
Meal Planning
- The Plan tab shows the week ahead. Add a recipe to a day from the plan, or from the recipe page itself.
- Mark a recipe as made once you've cooked it.
- If you share a collection, everyone in it sees and edits the same weekly plan.
Sharing & Discovering Recipes
- Share your collection with the people you cook with, and your recipes, tags, and meal plan stay in sync for all of you.
- Send a single recipe to one person without sharing your whole collection. They can save their own copy. You control whether they can pass it on, and you can revoke access at any time.
- Publish a recipe to the community collection so anyone can find and save it. You can unpublish it later.
- Discover lets you browse community recipes by category or cuisine and save any of them into your own collection.
- Recipes you saved from the community are marked as such, and can't be republished back to the community.
Reporting & Blocking
- Report a recipe that is offensive, spam, or not the poster's to share: open the recipe, tap the ⋯ button, and choose Report recipe. We review reports within 24 hours and remove recipes that break our Terms. A recipe you report is hidden from your Discover results right away.
- Block a person to stop seeing the recipes they've shared publicly: open one of their recipes, tap ⋯, and choose Block this user.
- Unblock someone from Profile → Blocked users.
- You can also report content by emailing support@therecipeorganizer.com.
Attribution
- Every imported recipe keeps a link back to where it came from, shown at the top of the recipe.
- That card shows the creator's name and photo or the site's logo, their handle and platform for social posts, and a View original link to the source page.
- Attribution travels with the recipe when it's shared or published, so credit isn't lost along the way.
- Are you a creator who'd like a recipe removed from the community collection? Email us and we'll take care of it.
Signing In
- You can sign in with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN) or with a magic link sent to your email — no password required.
- Want to look around first? Choose Continue as guest. Create an account later to keep your recipes and use them on other devices.
- To update your name or profile photo, go to your profile settings within the app.
- To delete your account and your data, see Delete Your Account below.

On the web:

- Scroll down to the Account section.
- Click Delete Account.
- Click Delete Account in the confirmation dialog to finish.
If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in, email support@therecipeorganizer.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will delete your account and data on your behalf.
What is deleted. These are removed from our active systems immediately:
- Your account: your email address, name, and profile photo
- Your sign-in information
- Your recipes and the photos you uploaded
- Your meal plan
- The invitations and shares you sent
- Your reports and blocks
Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten.
What is kept. Some things are not removed automatically:
- Copies other people saved. A copy of your recipe that someone else saved to their own collection belongs to their account and stays there, with the recipe's photo and, if you wrote the recipe yourself, your profile photo as its author.
- Community collection recipes. A recipe you added to the community collection stays in it, with its photo. It is no longer connected to you in any way.
- Things shared with you. If someone else invited your email address to a collection or sent you a recipe, that record stays in their account until they remove it.
To have community collection recipes removed, email us, before deleting your account if you can, and we will delete them for you.
If you use the app without an account, you can delete any of your recipes at any time. To erase everything, including your anonymous identifier, create an account and then delete it, or email us.
Our Privacy Policy has the full details on what we keep and for how long.
